SYMPTOMS

When you publish your web to a server that does not have the FrontPage Server Extensions, you cannot change the server name and path in the Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard.

CAUSE

After you successfully publish your web using the Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard, the same settings will be used on subsequent attempts to publish to that location.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, and specify a new server name and path for your content, follow these steps:
  1. Open your web in FrontPage Explorer.
  2. On the File menu, click Publish FrontPage Web.
  3. Click More Webs.
  4. Enter the location you want to publish your content to and click OK.
  5. In the FTP Server Name box, type the name of the FTP server. In the Directory Path box, type the path to the directory on the FTP server. Click Next.
  6. In the User Name box, enter your user name. In the Password box, enter your password. Click Finish.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at beginning of this article.
