SYMPTOMS

When you refresh a table of contents page in a discussion Web, new postings are not shown.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the Include Page Component on the table of contents page is not updated after an article is posted.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Install the Updated FrontPage Server Extensions

For more information about obtaining and installing updated versions of the FrontPage Server Extensions, please see the following Microsoft site:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/languages/fp/ (http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/languages/fp/)

Method 2: Recalculate Hyperlinks from FrontPage Explorer

  1. Open your Web in FrontPage Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Recalculate Hyperlinks.
  3. Click Yes.

Method 3: Recalculate Hyperlinks Using FrontPage Server Administrator

  1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, and then click MS-DOS Prompt (Windows 95) or Command Prompt (Windows NT).
  2. At the command prompt, type the following command:
    <FrontPageRoot>\version3.0\bin\fpsrvadm -o recalc -p 80 -w <webname>
where <FrontPageRoot> is the folder where you installed the FrontPage Server Extensions, 80 represents the port on which your server is installed, and <webname> is the name of the affected Web.

NOTE: By default, the FrontPage Server Extensions are installed in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage folder. If you have a multi-hosted server, use IPAddress:Port.
For more information about using the FrontPage Server Administrator at the command prompt, please see the Server Extensions Resource Kit at the following Microsoft Web site:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/languages/fp/ (http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/languages/fp/)

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in the Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions, version 3.0.2.1330.
