SYMPTOMS

When you move the <TITLE> tag in a page created by a wizard to the top of the page, FrontPage Editor moves the tag back to its original position, below the <META> tag, when you save the page.

CAUSE

FrontPage rewrites the HyperText Markup Language (HTML) code for the templates it creates.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, open the page in a text editor (such as Notepad) and edit the HTML source code.

NOTE: If you reopen the page in FrontPage Editor, it will reposition the <TITLE> tag to its original position.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft FrontPage 98 Standard Edition
