Illegal Operation Error Message When Using Nwadmn3x.exe Utility

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the Nwadmn3x.exe utility, you may receive the following error message:

NWADMIN:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

This behavior can occur if Microsoft Service for NetWare Directory Services (MSNDS) is installed on the computer.

To prevent this behavior from occurring, do not use the Nwadmn3x.exe utility on a computer on which MSNDS is installed.

When MSNDS is installed, the Nwadmn3x.exe utility is unable to locate all the files required to run.
