PMAdmin Allows Partitioning of Non-empty Containers

SYMPTOMS

"PMAdmin Create Partition" will not show an error message if you try to partition a non-empty container. If a container has objects in it prior to partitioning, data will be lost from that container during the partitioning process.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, apply the latest Site Server 3.0 service pack.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Site Server version 3.0. This problem was corrected in the latest Microsoft Site Server version 3.0 U.S. Service Pack. For information about obtaining the service pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
