When you start Microsoft Outlook 98 by using the Inbox icon on the
desktop, you may receive a message stating that you have an earlier
version of MSN, The Microsoft Network, installed and that a newer
version is available. When this occurs, you have the following
options:
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, either create a new Outlook shortcut or use
the Chnginbx.exe tool.
Method 1To create a new desktop icon that starts Outlook 98:
Method 2Run the Chnginbx.exe tool located in the following folder on the Windows 98 CD-ROM:
Tools\Mtsutil
The Chnginbx.exe tool is also located at the following Microsoft Web site:
