SYMPTOMS
If you are using multiple monitors in Windows 98, one monitor may display
your desktop wallpaper incorrectly on the Windows logon screen. After
you log on to Windows 98, the desktop wallpaper is displayed correctly.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if all of the following conditions exist:
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, use the same color depth for all video adapters.

multiple monitors, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type
multiple, and then double-click the "Multiple
Display Support" topic.
