SUMMARY

Java applets cannot be scripted in Internet Explorer for the Macintosh.

MORE INFORMATION

This is by design.

In Internet Explorer, the ability to script Java Applets and plugins is implemented through Microsoft's COM technology. Because there is no COM implementation in Internet Explorer for the Macintosh, it is not possible for script to "drive" an applet, or vice-versa.
