SYMPTOMS

When you try to run Hhupd.exe the following error message appears:
INF Install Failure. Reason: Access is Denied.

CAUSE

You do not have administrator rights on the Windows NT computer.

RESOLUTION

Do one of the following to work around this problem:
  • Have the administrator to change your rights.
  • Log on as an administrator (with administrator rights).
  • Have the administrator run Hhupd.exe.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Log on to a Windows NT computer that you do not have administrator privileges on.
  2. Run Hhupd.exe. You can download Hhupd.exe from the following Microsoft Web site (this is a redistributable file):
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0D7FC2C3-5085-4506-82A0-A838A6836A69&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0D7FC2C3-5085-4506-82A0-A838A6836A69&displaylang=en)
  3. Click Yes to update Help.
