OLEXP: Extra Period Added After Spell Check in Outlook Express

After you run a spelling check on an Outlook Express e-mail message, some abbreviations that end with a period may have a second period. For example, the abbreviation "Mr." may appear as "Mr.."

This behavior can occur if you are using the 32-bit spell checking program included with Microsoft Office 7.0 for Windows 95 or Microsoft Office 97. These spell checking programs may incorrectly identify some abbreviations as misspelled words. If you choose to change an abbreviation's spelling, the spell checking program may add a period to the end of the abbreviation.

To work around this behavior, click Ignore or Ignore All when the spelling checker notes these abbreviations as misspelled words.
