Active Desktop Command Is Missing When You Right-Click Desktop

SYMPTOMS

When you open the Display Properties dialog box, the Web tab may be missing. Also, if you right-click the desktop, the Active Desktop command may be missing.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are using the TweakUI program and the Active Desktop Enabled feature is not enabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, enable the Active Desktop Enabled feature. To do so, use the following steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click TweakUI.
  2. Click the Internet Explorer 4 tab, click the Active Desktop Enabled check box to select it, and then click OK.
