Windows 98 and Windows Me Error Message Resource Center
SYMPTOMS
When you try to run the Microsoft Windows 98 Registration wizard, you may
receive the following error message, or one similar to it:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor. REGWIZ caused an invalid page fault in module REGWIZC.DLL at 0257:10014da0. CAUSE
This issue can occur if your installation of Microsoft WebTV for Windows
is damaged.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, uninstall and then reinstall WebTV for Windows
before you run the Windows 98 Registration wizard. To do so, use the
following steps:
