Disabling the "Already Installed" Warning for Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 Setup

When you run a Quiet-mode Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Setup on a computer that already has Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 installed, you receive the following message: When you run a Quiet-mode Internet Explorer 5 Setup on a computer that already has Internet Explorer 5 installed, the installation progress dialog box appears and before anything is installed, Setup abruptly stops, and the installation progress dialog box disappears. You do not receive a message.

Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).

You can prevent the message listed above from being displayed by adding a registry value before you run Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 Setup. Add this value on all the computers on which you want to run a Quiet-mode Setup: Add the value listed above to the following registry key:
