Background Sound Plays While Sounds Are Disabled

SYMPTOMS

When you view a Web page, a background sound may be played, even if you have configured Internet Explorer to not play sounds.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Web page uses the following Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) source code to play the background sound
<embed src="file name">
				
where file name is the name of the embedded sound file.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, reduce the volume setting on your speakers, or turn them off.
