SYMPTOMS

When you open a Web page that contains a Microsoft Office PivotTable Component, the PivotTable may not contain all of the formatting that the source Microsoft Excel PivotTable contains.

CAUSE

When you publish an Excel PivotTable, most of the cell formatting is lost. The following formatting elements are not retained when you publish an Excel PivotTable:
  • Cell borders
  • Font formatting
  • Cell patterns
  • Cell alignment
  • Number formatting
NOTE: This limitation includes all formatting that you apply to a PivotTable using an AutoFormat. It also includes formatting that you apply using the Format Cells dialog box.

NOTE: Number formatting is lost if you apply the formatting directly to the cells on the worksheet. When you use the PivotTable Field dialog box to apply number formatting to the PivotTable, the number formatting is retained when you publish the PivotTable.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft Excel 2000 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Office PivotTable Component 9.0, run time
