PS/2 Port Appears to Be Disabled on ThinkPad Computer

SYMPTOMS

After you install a Microsoft Intellimouse on your IBM ThinkPad computer, your PS/2 port may appear to be disabled in Device Manager. If you view properties for this port, the Disable in this hardware profile check box may be selected, even if you did not previously click to select this check box. However, even though the port appears disabled, your Intellimouse may work correctly.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, click to clear the Disable in this hardware profile check box, and then restart your computer. Your Intellimouse should continue to work correctly.
