SYMPTOMS

When you are running Windows 2000 Setup on a Toshiba Portege 320CT, Setup may lose access to the CD-ROM drive and be unable to continue.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Toshiba Portege 320CT contains BIOS revision 6.30 or earlier.

RESOLUTION

Upgrade the BIOS on this computer to the latest version compatible with Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI). This should be version 6.3A or later. Please contact the computer's manufacturer to obtain the latest version of the BIOS.
