Article ID: 218639 - Last Review: June 29, 1999 - Revision: 1.0 PUB2000: Some Fonts in the Font List May Not be Used in the PublicationThis article was previously published under Q218639 SYMPTOMS
When you work with fonts in Microsoft Publisher 2000, you may notice that some fonts listed in the Load Fonts window and the Fonts window are not being used in the publication. You may notice this behavior while you prepare for your publication for commercial printing, embedding fonts, or opening an unpacked publication.
CAUSE
This behavior can be caused by customized Microsoft Publisher Design Gallery objects that contain fonts. These objects are specific to particular publications, and are saved in the publication files. Publisher will embed any fonts used by Design Gallery objects in case the object is needed again, and even if the Design Gallery object is deleted from the publication the fonts will remain embedded.
RESOLUTION
You can choose not to embed any number of fonts using the Commercial Printing Tools.
REFERENCESFor more information about Font embedding and subsetting, click Microsoft Publisher Help on the
Help menu, type What is font embedding? in the Office Assistant or
the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics
