"Packed File Corrupt" Error Message Installing Windows

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install Windows 98 or Windows 95 from MS-DOS, you may receive the following error message:
Packed file corrupt

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your computer is infected with a virus.

To resolve this issue, contact an anti-virus software manufacturer to inquire about the availability of a program that can detect and clean the virus from your computer.
