SYMPTOMS

If you have animation effects applied to a sound or movie in Microsoft PowerPoint, the media object does not play when you click Preview in the Custom Animation dialog box.

CAUSE

The Preview command is not designed to play sound or movie files that have animation effects applied to them.

WORKAROUND

To preview the animation including the media objects, click the Slide Show icon in the lower-left corner of the main PowerPoint window.
