PS/2 Mouse Does Not Work on Laptop Docking Station

SYMPTOMS

After you install Windows 2000 on a laptop computer that is configured to use a docking station with a PS/2-style mouse, the mouse may not function properly.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the computer Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) is not configured to use multiple active pointing devices.

RESOLUTION

To use more than one pointing device on your computer, configure the computer BIOS to use multiple pointing devices. For information about how to do so, view the documentation included with your computer, or contact the manufacturer of your computer.
