SYMPTOMS

When you run Office Setup, the following error message appears:

Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

You started Office Setup by clicking a hyperlink on a Web page.

-and-
The Setup.ini file refers to a transform created by the Custom Installation Wizard (CIW).

-and-
The reference to the transform in the Setup.ini file is not fully qualified.
