When you run Microsoft Office 2000 Setup, you receive the following error message:
Could not find a package to install on the installation media.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • You run Setup from an administrative installation point.

    -and-

  • You perform the Office 2000 administrative installation to a server location that contains an administrative installation of an earlier version of Office.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, perform the Office 2000 administrative installation into an empty folder.
