FP2000: No Entries Generated for a Form When You Clear the 'Include Field Names' Check Box

SYMPTOMS

When you clear the Include Field Names check box for a form that returns a log in HTML format, no entries are saved when the form is submitted.

The following HTML formats do not log entries for the Save Results component of FrontPage:
HTML
HTML Definition List
HTML Bulleted List

CAUSE

The form fields are not converted properly to HTML paragraphs.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

To temporarily work around this problem, select the Include Field Names check box for the form. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the form, and then click Form Properties on the shortcut menu.
  2. In the Form Properties dialog box, click Options.
  3. In the Options for Saving Results of a Form dialog box, click the File Results tab.
  4. Select the Include field names check box, and then click OK to close all open dialog boxes.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
