This article describes some differences in the implementation of color formatting for diacritic marks (Arabic text vowelling) between Arabic Word 97 and Word 2000 (with the Microsoft Office 2000 MultiLanguage Pack or localized):

In Arabic Word 97, you can assign multiple diacritic colors in a document. In Word 2000, you can only assign one color per document.
In Arabic Word 97, the diacritic color option appears in the Fonts dialog box. In Word 2000, the diacritic color option appears in the Options dialog box (Tools menu) on the Right-To-Left tab.
Diacritic color is lost when you open an Arabic Word 97 document in Word 2000. The diacritic color needs to be reapplied manually.
