SUMMARY

To remove incorrect entries from a Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS) environment, or perform other maintenance, it may be necessary to stop the replication process that occurs between WINS partners.

MORE INFORMATION

In Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0 and earlier, you can stop the replication process temporarily by clearing the Push and Pull replication options in Server Replication Partners properties.

To stop WINS replication in Windows 2000, you must remove the replication partner from the WINS Replication Partners list.
