When you work with Navigation view in Microsoft FrontPage 2000, you cannot add child pages to any ASP page that participates in a navigation structure.
CAUSE
Microsoft FrontPage 2000 does not allow ASP files to be parent nodes in a navigation structure. However, you can make ASP pages child pages of HTM files.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

To work around this issue, temporarily rename your ASP files with an .htm file name extension, add them to the navigation structure, and then rename them so that they have an .asp file name extension again. To do so, follow these steps:
NOTE: If you need to make a change to the navigation structure--for example, move one ASP page to a different parent node--you must follow these steps again. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
