SYMPTOMS

When you browse the Internet through a Proxy server that requires Distributed Password Authentication (DPA), Internet Explorer prompts for proxy authentication multiple times.

To resolve this problem, upgrade to Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2 or Internet Explorer 5. For information about how to do so, please see the following Microsoft Web site:
