Method 2: Use System File Checker (Windows 98 Only)
Click Start, point to Programs, and then point to Accessories.
Point to System Tools, and then click System Information.
On the Tools menu, click System File Checker.
In the Select an option and click Start
option group, click Extract one file from installation
disk.
In the Specify the system file you would like to
restore box, type the following:
Imagehlp.dll
Click Start.
In the Restore from box, type the
following
CDRomDriveLetter:
where CDRomDriveLetter is the letter
of the drive where the Office CD1 is located.
In the Save file in box, type the
following
DriveLetter:\Windows\System
where DriveLetter is the letter of the
drive where Windows is installed.
If you are prompted to create a backup folder for the file
that is being replaced, click OK to accept the default path for the backup folder. If you are
prompted to create the folder, click Yes.
After the file is extracted, you receive the following
message:
The file has been successfully extracted.
Click OK, and then click Close.
When you run Microsoft Office Setup, the problem should not
occur.
