SYMPTOMS

Your Dial-Up Networking connections may be unavailable when you adjust your Synchronization Settings in Internet Explorer. For example, when you click Synchronize on the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, and then click Setup, only LAN Connection appears in the When I am using this network connection list.

RESOLUTION

To workaround this problem, define a new schedule for your synchronization:
  1. In Internet Explorer, click Synchronize on the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Scheduledtab, and then click Add.
  3. Click Next.
  4. In the Choose a network connection for this synchronization box, click the Dial-Up Networking connection you want to use for synchronization.
  5. Select the items you want to synchronize using the selected Dial-Up Networking connection, and then click Next.
  6. Select a date and time for synchronization to start, and then click Next.
  7. Type a name for the scheduled synchronization task, and then click Next.
  8. Click Finish, click OK, and then click Close.
