XL2000: Macro Virus Warning Does Not Appear When Opening SYLK File That Contains XLM Code

SYMPTOMS

When you open a workbook that contains macros, you may not be warned that the workbook contains macros.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • The workbook contains macros written in the Microsoft Excel 4.0 (XLM) macro language.

    -and-

  • The workbook has been saved in the Symbolic Link (SYLK) file format.

RESOLUTION
