SYMPTOMS

When you print or preview a Web page, the layout of the text may not be exactly the same as when you view the page in Internet Explorer.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) code in the Web page uses specific margin settings to position elements on the page. The print and preview features do not have default margins, so the position of the elements may not be identical to the viewed page.

WORKAROUND

Web page developers can work around this issue by setting "margin=0" in the body tag of the Web page.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
