MORE INFORMATIONMicrosoft Windows 95/Microsoft Windows 98/Microsoft Windows NT 4.0In versions of Internet Explorer earlier than version 5.5, you can select or cancel the selection of individual components to include in the "Download Only" process for a custom installation. With Internet Explorer 5.5 or later, when you select the Download Only option, you cannot choose which components are downloaded and which are not. All the cabinet (.cab) files for a full installation for the operating system you choose are downloaded. This change was made to accommodate the multiple operating systems on which you can install Internet Explorer 5.5 or later. Each operating system has specific components that can and cannot be installed.
