When you attempt to connect to a Web that is configured with unique permissions, and you use a name with different capitalization than was used when the Web was created, one of the following symptoms may occur:
CAUSE
FrontPage does not correctly recognize the "RealmName" information for the Web. Webs that use unique permissions have a "RealmName" that is defined in a file named Access.cnf, which is located in the _vti_pvt folder of the Web. This information is case-sensitive. The following is an example of an Access.cnf file:
vti_encoding:SR|utf8-nl RealmName:test InheritPermissions:false PasswordDir:c:\\inetpub\\wwwroot\\test\\_vti_pvt UseRealm:/test WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:

Regardless of any incorrect information that may be displayed in the FrontPage Permissions dialog box, the unique permissions that were applied to the Web are still in place. Only users who were given access can open or browse the Web.
