After the second automated reboot for a Windows Millennium Edition (Me) upgrade, you may receive the following error message:
A device file that is specified in the System.INI file is damaged. It may be needed to run Windows. You may need to run the Window Setup program again. If the file is included in another software package, you may need to reinstall the software that uses the file. C:\WINDOWS\system\ASPIENUM.VXD Press any key to continue.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if the Aspienum.vxd device driver file is present on your computer before the upgrade.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue:
