SUMMARY

This article describes how to export your contacts from Outlook Express for Macintosh to your Personal Address Book in Outlook for Macintosh Edition.

MORE INFORMATION

To export your contacts from Outlook Express for Macintosh to your Personal Address Book in Outlook for Macintosh Edition, follow the procedures in this section:

How to Export Your Contacts from Outlook Express

  1. In Outlook Express, click Export Contacts on the File menu.
  2. Choose a name and location for the exported file (the default location for the file is your desktop and the default name for the file is "Contacts Export"), and then click Save.

How to Save Your Contacts as a .csv File

  1. Start Microsoft Excel.
  2. On the File menu, click Open.
  3. Click the Contacts Export file, and then click Open. This starts the Text Import Wizard.
  4. Click Delimited as the original data type, and then click Next.
  5. Click Tab as the delimiter, and then click Next.
  6. Click General as the column data format, and then click Finish.
  7. On the File menu, click Save As.
  8. Set the Save File as type box to CSV (Comma Delimited).
  9. Choose a name and location for the file (the default location for the file is your desktop and the default name for the file is "Contacts Export" so if you want to use the same location, you must use a different name), and then click Save.

How to Import the Contacts to Outlook

  1. Start Outlook for Macintosh, Exchange Server Edition.
  2. On the File menu, click Import, and then click OK when you are prompted to choose a file to import.
  3. Click the file that you saved in step 9, and then click Open.
This import feature is not included in the Personal Address Book that comes with Outlook for Macintosh, Exchange Server Edition versions 8.0 or 8.1.
