Windows 98 and Windows Me Error Message Resource Center
SYMPTOMS
When you are upgrading to Windows Millennium Edition (Me), you may receive the following error message when the file copy process is 10 percent complete:
SUWIN This program has caused an illegal operation and will be shut down. SUWin caused an invalid page fault in module Unknown at 0000:XXXX XXXX.
After you acknowledge the error message, Setup continues normally. CAUSE
This behavior can occur if Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 is installed.
RESOLUTION
To prevent this error message from occurring, uninstall SQL Server 7.0 before you upgrade to Windows Me.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, disable the path for SQL Server 7.0 in the Autoexec.bat file before you upgrade to Windows Me:
