ENT2001: Grammar Checker Missing in Entourage

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the Microsoft Office 2001 Proofing tools on an Entourage e-mail message, the grammar checker does not work, although the spelling checker does work.

CAUSE

The Grammar Checker tool is not implemented in Entourage.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use the full proofing tools functionality in Microsoft Word 2001, and then do one of the following:
  • Copy and paste the fully proofed text into the message body.
  • Send the proofed Word document to a mail recipient as an attachment.
For more information about how to check grammar in Word, click the Office Assistant, type grammar, click Search, and then click Check spelling and grammar to view the topic.

To send a document as an attachment from Word, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, click Send To, and then click Mail Recipient (as Attachment).
  2. When Entourage starts, the Word attachment is embedded in the message. Address the message, and then click Send Now.
