SUMMARY
When you install Microsoft Office 2000, by default you also install Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 (version 5.00.2314.1003). However, Microsoft recently made Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 (version 5.50.4134.600) available for installation. This article explains the steps necessary to include Internet Explorer 5.5 with the installation of Office 2000 on a computer that is using Windows 2000 Professional as the operating system. OFF2000: How to Install Internet Explorer 5.5 with Office 2000
NOTE: If you try to install Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 as part of your custom transform (.mst) by using step 15 in the Custom Installation Wizard (CIW) to point to the location of Internet source files, Internet Explorer 5.5 will not be installed on computers that are running Windows 2000 Professional.
