SYMPTOMS

After you use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard or the User State Migration Tool to migrate program settings, programs that require passwords may no longer work properly, or may prompt you for a password that you previously saved.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because passwords are not migrated with programs when you use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard or the User State Migration Tool to migrate program settings. This is a security feature that protects your passwords.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, save your passwords in your programs after you migrate your programs.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
