If you upgrade your computer to Windows Millennium Edition (Me), and then you attempt to use your PS/2 mouse, your mouse may not work correctly or it may be completely disabled.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, open the Device Manager, remove the hardware device listing for the PS/2 mouse, and then restart your computer. Your computer can redetect the mouse and install the appropriate mouse driver. To use the keyboard to remove the mouse:

This behavior may also occur if you transfer a hard disk (that has Windows Me installed) from one computer to another computer.
