SYMPTOMS

After you install a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate onto an Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server-based computer, you may receive the following error in the event log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7024
Description: The Microsoft Web Proxy service terminated with service-specific error 2148074253.

This problem can occur because a fault in the SSL certificate has occurred while it is being exported from Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) or imported to ISA Server. This type of error can occur after you receive the error message: "Error Schannel Event ID 36871."

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, remove the SSL certificate from the ISA Manager. Then, follow the instructions in the following article to correct the SSL certificate problem:
