Plug and Play Devices Do Not Appear in the Add Scanner and Camera Wizard

If you use the Add Scanner and Camera Wizard to determine whether Windows XP has a driver for a Plug and Play scanner or camera, no devices are listed. Only non-Plug and Play devices are listed in the Scanner and Camera Wizard.

The Plug and Play device information is stored in .inf files, and these drivers are installed automatically when Plug and Play detects them. If you do not see your device in the list, check with the manufacturer for the availability of a WIA driver.
