When you install Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1 (SR1) or Service Pack 2 (SP2), you may be unable to save files in the .jpg format by using Microsoft Paint. After you open a .jpg file by using Paint, and then you click Save As on the File menu, the Save As type: box may not list an option to save the file in a .jpg format.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because of an incorrect entry in the registry.
