If you attempt to open a Windows XP binary performance log (.blg) file in Windows 2000, you receive the following error message:
System Monitor Control Data source path to .blg file is either invalid or cannot be found. System message: The specified log file type has not been installed on this system. CAUSE
Even though the file name extension is the same, the format of .blg files is changed in Windows XP. This new format cannot be read by System Monitor in Windows 2000.

To work around this issue, use either of the following methods:
