Office Live Meeting client Lifecycle Policy

This support lifecycle policy for the Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 client shall take effect July 1, 2010. This policy states that Microsoft provides support for the Office Live Meeting client as indicated below. For purposes of clarification, the “Office Live Meeting client” shall mean the software which users of the Microsoft Office Live Meeting service are required to install and run in order to use the Microsoft Office Live Meeting service:

  • Each time a new version of the Office Live Meeting client is publicly released, Microsoft will provide eighteen (18) months of Support for that version of the Office Live Meeting client.
  • Extended Support is not available.
  • The support lifecycle policy for Office Live Meeting client requires that a supported version of the Office Live Meeting 2007 client be installed to continue to receive support (including security updates).
  • Security updates will be available for the Office Live Meeting client during its supported lifecycle. Updates will be provided through the Microsoft Download Center for the duration of its support lifecycle.
  • Microsoft advises customers to install the latest version of the Office Live Meeting client (including security updates) to help ensure maximum functionality and security of the Microsoft Office Live Meeting service.
  • Once the final version of the Office Live Meeting client is publicly released, that version will be supported until the Office Live Meeting service is no longer supported, which may or may not be longer than eighteen (18) months.

Support is defined as the first phase of the product support lifecycle. At the supported service pack level, Support includes:

  • Incident support (no-charge incident support, paid incident support, support charged on an hourly basis, support for warranty claims)
  • Security update support
  • The ability to request non-security hotfixes
