Select Start > Settings > Personalization > Colors, and then choose your own color, or let Windows pull an accent color from your background. Change desktop colors. Use the Windows 10 Settings app to change your desktop background color.

You can disable the dark page background in Dark Mode and keep the page light. Go to File > Options > General > Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office. By the Office Theme color selection box, select the checkbox for Never change the document page color. Select OK to return to your document.

Windows macOS. To add some extra visual interest to your document, add a background color using the Page Color button. You can also add a watermark. Add or change the background color. Go to Design > Page Color. Choose the color you want under Theme Colors or Standard Colors.

When reading a message, you can turn dark mode on or off by using the icon at the top of the message window. Select the sun icon to change the message window background to white. Select the moon icon to change the message window background to black.

The Office theme is the color scheme for your entire Office program, while document themes are more specific (they show up in individual Access or Outlook files). In addition, you can add a pattern to your Office program, by changing the Office Background.

By default, Word and Outlook recolor your documents and e-mails to match the rest of the application when in Black theme. To disable this behavior in Word, navigate to File > Options > General > Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office, then check Never change the document page color.

Windows 11 Windows 10. Select Start > Settings > Personalization > Background. In the list next to Personalize your background, select Picture, Solid color, Slideshow, or Windows Spotlight (to see a new image from around the world every day).

In Word, you can use the Immersive Reader view to change the background color to black. In Word, select View > Immersive Reader . To change the background color, on the Immersive Reader tab, select Page Color and then pick (Black) from the color palette.

The dark theme changes the default bright background color in the new Microsoft Edge to a darker color, which is easier on the eyes in low-light environments or if you prefer less bright interfaces. Here's how to activate dark mode: Go to Settings and more > Settings . Select Appearance from the Settings list.

Make a picture transparent. Change the brightness, contrast, or sharpness of a picture. Apply an artistic effect to a picture. Adjust the color intensity (saturation), color tone (temperature), recolor it, or remove colors.
