This article describes how to install the Chat tool from the Windows 95
CD-ROM. This tool is not installed by default when you install Windows 95.
To install Chat from the Windows 95 CD-ROM, follow these steps:
| 1. | In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

| 2. | On the Windows Setup tab, click Have Disk.
|
| 3. | Click Browse, click the CD-ROM drive in the Drives box, double-click
the Other folder, double-click the Chat folder, click OK, and then
click OK again.

| 4. | Click the Chat check box in the list of components so that it is
selected, and then click Install.
|
| 5. | Click OK.
|
| 6. | Create a shortcut to Netdde.exe in the Windows\Startup folder. For
information about creating shortcuts, search for "shortcuts" by
clicking the Start button and then clicking Help.
|
| 7. | Restart your computer.
|
The Chat tool is added to the Accessories menu.
NOTE: The Chat tool is not included in the floppy disk version of Windows
95, but is available in the CD-ROM Extras for Microsoft Windows 95 Upgrade.
