SUMMARY

If you have a Web server on which you want to create Active Server Pages (ASP) files, the Web server must have installed support for Active Server Pages.

To view Active Server Pages (ASP) files created in Microsoft Access 97 on Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft NT Workstation 4.0, you can install Microsoft Personal Web Server 4.0.

NOTE: On a Microsoft Windows NT Server running Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), you must have version 3.0 or later in order to view ASP files.

You can install these new versions from the Microsoft Windows NT Option Pack located on the Internet Information Server (IIS) home page on the Internet. For details on how to download the Microsoft Windows NT Option Pack, see the "More Information" section later in this article.

NOTE: You do not have to download Microsoft Personal Web Server 4.0 for Windows 98. You can also install it from the following location on the Microsoft Windows 98 CD:
   \addons\pws\setup.exe

Active Server Pages is a feature of IIS 4.0 on Microsoft Windows NT Server, and on Personal Web Server 4.0 on Microsoft Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0. Any of these versions can be installed by downloading the Microsoft NT Option pack.

To download the required Web services version, follow these steps:

2.On the Windows NT Server 4.0 Option Pack, read through the details of the Option Pack.
3.At the bottom of the page, click Register and Download Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack.
4.Fill out the Registration form, and then click the Submit User Info button.
5.On the Download Step 1 page, click Option 1.
6.On the Download Step 2 page, choose the version you want to download from the drop down menu and click Next.
7.On the Download Step 3 page, pick a location from which to download, and then click Download.exe for that site.
8.You can then choose either to download the file "Download.exe" and run it later, or you can choose have it download and run the setup immediately.
