This article describes how to change the default home page from Default.htm to Index.htm when you are using the Microsoft Personal Web Server.

To change the default home page from Default.htm to Index.htm, follow these steps:
1.On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2.Double-click the Personal Web Server icon.
3.Click the Administration tab.
4.Click Administration.
5.Click to select WWW Administration.
6.Click the Directories tab.
7.Select "Default Homepage."
8.Rename Default.htm to Index.htm.
9.Start FrontPage Explorer.
10.On the View menu, click Folder View.
11.Rename Default.htm to Index.htm.
12.Close and then reopen the Web.
